I just wanted to make a quick blog post to help in bringing more awareness to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Six years ago, my friend Sarah’s oldest son was diagnosed with DMD and 3 years after that, she gave birth to another son that was also diagnosed shortly after birth.

Earlier this year, my very talented friend JENNIFER HARR started a personal project called “Because of You”. She was asking friends and blog readers to nominate someone deserving. As an occupational therapist AND a photographer (did I mention that she was talented?), she wanted it to be someone that “has a challenge they overcome or make the best of on a daily basis”. Because JEN lives in the DFW area, I immediately thought of my friend Sarah and her family.

I was thrilled to find out that JEN chose the Combs family for the free photo shoot!!

JEN did a beautiful job photographing my friend and her family…. and better yet, she did an amazing job presenting the photos on her blog and sharing some great information about DMD and how YOU can support the cause!
